Once the client’s own staff had gone home, there was often no trained first aider left on site. That wasn’t acceptable to us, nor was it in line with the requirements of a workplace first aid risk assessment under HSE guidance.
We realised we needed to address this directly. Training our own staff was the obvious first step.
