The Company

Based in Sheffield and operating throughout South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire & West Yorkshire, RGS Cleaning Ltd was established in 1986 by Ray and his wife. Their aim was to provide a high quality cleaning service for all types of industry.

As the business grew so did RGS’s reputation and today offers many of the advantages of national contractors whilst being delivered by a friendly, local family business.

With a large and diverse client base we specialise in servicing premises such as; offices, retail units (from shops and restaurants to bars, clubs and fitness facilities), department stores and schools. We also service medical centres and veterinary practices. We focus on the smaller side of the market where large nation contractors can not offer the same level of standards.

The Past

In 1985 Ray and his wife started out with a window cleaning janitorial retail base. With an offer to quote for an office clean in Sheffield, this was the stepping stone that brought RGS Cleaning Ltd into existence. Starting the business from a bedroom in their home and by building their reputation, RGS moved to premises in Sheffield. Today these offices support a team of administrators and managers who are there to answer your questions and deliver your cleaning and janitorial supplies.

Ray’s 40+ years’ experience in the industry has involved everything from floor cleaning maintenance to selling cleaning machines, equipment and janitorial supplies. As a freeman & liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners he is an expert in his field.

Her expertise in administration has ensured that client accounts run smoothly. Over the years the company has invested in MITC-STAFFCHECK computerised time management, which enables the cleaning hours worked to be monitored thereby preventing possible fraudulent time sheets and non-attendances, etc.

The Present & Future

The next generation is now in place with Oliver as General Manager. Being Ray eldest son he has always been involved in the business as far back as 8 years old when he was helping out with his father stripping and sealing floors. Oliver brings with him his extensive experience in the cleaning and hygiene industry, as well as a successful career in catering. With an ever changing economic climate Oliver’s successful approach to restructuring the business, has not only grown the company’s portfolio but also the products and services offered to reflect today’s economic environment.

Sustainability continues to be the core focus of the company, with a commitment to offering clients a competitive price without compromising on standards and ethics. RGS is committed to choosing products that are as environmentally friendly as possible.
